OTHER PEOPLE’S INK: Dance of the Diagram (Saturday, May 4)

OTHER PEOPLE’S INK: Dance of the Diagram

Not enough Bob Fosse in your algebra? Is your Martha Graham obsession desperately deficient in calculus? Have no fear! Rorschach Theatre is here to satiate all your mathematical movement needs. Join Rorschach as we explore the intersection of artistic expression and geometric calculation in “Dance of the Diagram ” at the National Math Festival, presented by the BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT.

“The piece, commissioned by celebrated mathematician Dr. James Simons, was inspired by a beautiful piece of mathematics coming from geometry. As it goes in mathematics, so it goes on the dance floor, as dancers traverse specific sequences and patterns on a hexagonal diagram. Along their journeys, they encounter intimacy, wild rebellion, and the inevitability of being cancelled out upon arrival.”

To put it bluntly, You + Rorschach = Nerdy Fun #mathdance
