7 WAYS to get to RORSCHACH THEATRE IN EXILE
At Georgetown University this summer
So there’s no metro in Georgetown. Never has been. That shouldn’t stop you from visiting us this summer. Walking distance from the restaurants and shops of M street, Georgetown University is an exciting place to see theatre.
Below are seven easy ways to get to us, five public transportation options and two driving options. There are numerous other ways to get to Georgetown University. These are just our top seven.
1. TAXI
Best Features: Drops you off exactly where you need to be. Easy and fast.
Biggest Drawbacks: Price. Depending where you are coming from in the city, it could run you between $5 and $15. (Downtown to Georgetown is about $8)
Tell the taxi to take you to the Georgetown University's Main Gate at 37th and O. Walk through the gate. The Davis Center is to the right and slightly behind the iconic 18th century stone building that dominates the courtyard.
There are always cabs waiting there at the front gate so you shouldn't have a problem getting one at the end of the night.

2. THE CIRCULATOR
Best Features: Bus runs frequently all hours of the day and easily connects to Metro
Biggest Drawbacks: 5 block walk from bus stop to Georgetown Main Gate. Traffic in Georgetown and on K street can be slow in rush hour.
Click here for the circulator website
The CIRCULATOR BUS runs from UNION STATION to GEORGETOWN along K STREET and runs about every 10 minutes until late at night. They are brand new, bright red busses. You can visit their website here for a full schedule and map of their route.
NOTE: after 9pm, the route begins at FARRUGUT NORTH and not at Union Station.
The best connection point if you are transferring from Metro to bus is the FARRUGUT NORTH station on the RED LINE. Exit out of the K STREET EXIT and the CIRCULATOR stop is there in front of you on the same side of the street.
WHERE TO GET OFF: The stop you want is the second stop after the bus turns on to WISCONSIN AVENUE. Be careful – the two stops are quite close to each other. The stop is at WISCONSIN AND O STREETS (technically Dumbarton Street) Once you get off, cross the street and start walking west on O STREET. The main gate is at 37TH AND O STREETS, about five blocks away. It is about a 10-15 minute walk through a very pretty neighborhood.
After you walk through the front gate, The Davis Center is to the right and slightly behind the iconic 18th century stone building that dominates the courtyard.

The G2 runs along P street from Howard University to Georgetown University. Some convenient pick up points are 14th and P, 17th and P and Dupont Circle (where you can connect by Metro). The bus runs very late but becomes quite infrequent after rush hour. As long as you time it right with the bus schedule you should have no problems.
To connect to the G2 from the DUPONT CIRCLE METRO, get out of the Q STREET EXIT. At the top of the escalator, turn left on 20th street and walk south to P STREET. The bus stop is on the corner of 20th and P.

6. DRIVING AND PARKING IN GEORGETOWN NEIGHBORHOOD
Best Features: Free and easy to find the theatre, coming through the Main Gate.
Biggest Drawbacks: Time spent looking for parking, which is significantly easier in the summer when the University is not in session.
The main gate is at 37th and O streets. There is quite a bit of street parking and it misses most of the heavy M street traffic. Try to avoid traveling on 34th street since it gets a lot of Key Bridge traffic.
In the neighborhood (zone 6), street-parking enforcement stops patrolling at 8:30pm or 9pm, Monday to Saturday (depending on the street) so you can park at 6:31pm or 7:01pm (depending on the street) and you should be fine. There are also 2 and 4-hour meters along 37th St and Prospect Sts.
After you walk through the front gate, The Davis Center is to the right and slightly behind the iconic 18th century stone building that dominates the courtyard.
