Rorschach’s MAGIC IN ROUGH SPACES NEW PLAY LAB will workshop and read three “emerging scripts” by playwrights, both emerging and established, one of whom will be DC-Area based*. Workshops and Rehearsals will be in person at the end of April 2022 and public readings will broadcast digitally in early May. All DC-Area playwrights are invited to submit unproduced full-length plays that include magic realism, impossible elements and a general respect and optimism for humanity.

Rorschach is eager to connect with directors interested in bringing their own unique talents to the fulfillment of the company’s mission. (Rorschach’s Klecksography program, typically our entry point for new-to-us directors, is currently on hiatus. It’s a program we feel is best served through in-person engagement.)
During the 21-22 Season we’d like to continue growing our database of fascinating and capable people. We have a variety of opportunities throughout the season for readings and small projects. We’ll look to this pool of applicants to staff many of those projects. Additionally, with the applicant’s permission, we will share application materials with other DC-area theatres who are looking for similar talent.
